Committee
The AVS Committee is made up of a Central Executive, who are elected at Congress, and two representatives from each of the UK & Irish vet schools.
The AVS commttee exists to represent and support you so please do not hesitate to contact any of us if you have a query, contribution, difficulty or simply want to get a bit involved!

The Committee meets twice a year at the BVA headquarters in London, and also after Congress each year. These meetings allow the exec and reps to make progress and respond to problems arising among the vet student population as a whole. Our main agenda items are usually organising AVS events, and more and more the discussion of problems/developments at the various vet schools in a unique open forum. We've worked really hard on this open communication between the vet schools and are now really proud of it! Issues in the profession as a whole are also discussed as we are lucky to have direct support from the BVA, and lots of willing communication from the top!
We now feel that our meetings enable the student bodies at the colleges to work and campaign together for necessary changes and to exchange ideas and possible solutions to problems, this is the real strength of AVS.
